You know Chet Faker? Of course you do.

Well, as he pointed out in a recent announcement, the Australian electronic producer has been creating music under the name for “half a decade.”

Yes, that’s five years, and he acknowledged the driving force behind his rise was, indeed, his fans.

Now, Chet Faker has decided to drop his moniker and go forth with his real name instead.

Introducing, Nick Murphy:

He is back!

Since Rage Against the Machine broke up in 2000, Zack de le Rocha has been working with trent Reznor to produce a new album.

Although the pair, along with DJ Shadow, El-P, Questlove, and others recorded over 20 tracks, Zack felt they were too similar to Rage and started again.

Earlier this year it was let slip that Zack was indeed working on some material and BAM! we have a track from him.

Still very RATM – but how can Zak not?

The album should be released sometime next year.

All About The Money

“Now it’s all about the money.” No, that’s definitely not why I dig this track, although definitely some #aspirations up in there.

Since I clicked the link set by Che, I have listened to this song no less than five times a day. I can’t get enough of the slow, deep bass.

Released nearly 10 days ago, All About The Money comes off the lastest mixtape offering from Spark Master Tape, Silhouette of a Sunkken City – their third mixtape release since 2012. Here’s what wiki says about unknown the rapper(s):

Spark Master Tape is an anonymous rapper of unknown origins.[1] He has released three mixtapes since 2012.[2] Nearly all of his beats are produced by Paper Platoon, which is also the name of his unique collective that includes visual artists and musicians.[3]

Download the full album HERE – which is pretty dope.

Seriously, it ain’t often I stumbled onto something that makes me melt from deliciousness.

After The Weeknd’s recent rise to extreme popularity following his performance at the VMA’s last week, his style of rnb has definitely been taken to.
I mean, this past week I got a voice note from my Jozi besties laying down ‘I can’t feel my face when I’m with you, but I like it, but I like it’ and sang horrible duets featuring the same lyrics with my sister.
Worst was, during a chat with George – who you will hear much about I’m sure AND who thinks he first put my onto The Weeknd (PFFFFT) – he responded to my new love for The Weeknd with ‘Oh, so now he’s cool ’cause he was on the VMA’s.” I just walked away.

So back to what’s delicious: Post Malone.

That’s his latest single which he wrote and produced while, well, intoxicated. And he wasn’t shy to say that in an interview with Ebro in the Morning. I listened to the interview because his eclectic style intrigued me and I wanted to hear what he had to say in defence of him being a white boy with gold teeth.

He’s only 20, guys.

It all started when he uploaded his track, White Iverson, up onto Soundcloud in Feb and waited for the internet to take notice. It took around 3 months to get about 2mil plays and then he took the stage in New York…

Even though the colour of his skin will attract haters, his laid back attitude, and his seemingly lekker-dude presence will turn them, slowly. I dig him, and cannot wait to see what else he has to offer.
