The happiest place on Earth

I once met a girl who had been to Disneyland 52 times in her life. It was Disneyland Paris and was her family’s way of entertaining the children on their “off” days.

Well, anyways, here’s this cRaZy new trailer for Escape From Tomorrow – it looks insane and was apparently shot on the sly.

Wes Anderson, say whaaaaat

Ok, it’s not often that I get super excited for things. Like really. But this TRAILER, damn, made me smile non-stop yesterday when I found it.

GODDAMN <<WES ANDERSON>> IS A GOD.

So this dude, Matt Zoller Seitz, is like me, I assume, and decided to make a book all about Wes Anderson and his films: Bottle Rocket, Rushmore, The Royal Tenenbaums, The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou, The Darjeeling Limited, Fantastic Mr. Fox, and Moonrise Kingdom.

UMM< YUMMM. so great.

So, I put together some facts about Wes Anderson, just to get your tongues wagging at the thought of delicately paging through this book, devouring every page.

1) He has never won an oscar.

2) The first day of shooting Rushmore, Wes Anderson was so in awe of Bill Murray that he delivered all his directions to Murray in a whisper.

3) Moonrise Kingdom was his most critically-acclaimed film as well as his second-highest grossing picture. The Royal Tenenbaums was his highest grossing movie.

4) The idea of Margot losing part of her finger was originally written for the character of Margaret Yang in Rushmore.

5) In The Royal Tenenbaums, the original hawk used to play Mordecai was kidnapped during shooting and held for ransom.

6) He wrote Bottle RocketRushmore and The Royal Tenenbaums with Owen Wilson, whose brother, Luke Wilson, appears in all three movies.

7) Rosemary’s Baby is his favorite film. [and for reals, mine too]

8) The titlecards are always in the font: Futura Bold, most commonly in yellow color.

9) Often includes songs by The Rolling Stones on the soundtracks of his films.

10) In The Darjeeling Limited the 11 suitcases seen in the movie are created by Marc Jacobs for Louis Vuitton and they are decorated with giraffes, rhinoceros and antelopes designed by Eric Chase Anderson, the director’s brother. They all have the initials JLW.
